Miami-Dade College students, staff and professors gathered to celebrate and promote all the activities taken place at the college. This event occurred on Saturday, 14th 2007 at Westland Mall. Its objectivity was to promote and excel all the courses offered at the school such as: vocational, credit (Associate in Arts, Associate in Science) and also English as a second language. The course last mentioned is essential to our community for many immigrants come to Hialeah.
My expectations were various in regards to the event. I expected great activities for teens which included games, but also learning events. The community was told all the activities which occurred at Miami-Dade College which I also expected. Potter’s pod cast brought a lot of kids into the scenario. I did not expect the pod cast to be on the college website, neither the professor to be one of the witches.
There were diverse activities which promoted the school. Involvement of students was vital to contribute to the success of this event. Kids’ faces painted reflected the harmony of the environment. Giving out flyers, promoting and informing the Hialeah neighborhood, I and other colleagues contributed to the purpose of the event.
It is essential every little support we aim to our community for its educational success. The higher our educational expectations for our local society, the more dedication we are to give. It is never too much or too little. It is the success what makes our endeavors a great path.
